The Water Cycle
The water cycle is a path which the water follows. The water cycle moves around in a circle
These are the stages of the water cycle.
Evaporation: the sun heats up the water from the ground and turns into water vapour. Then the water vapour goes up into the air and when the clouds get heavy, it rains and the water drops return back to earth. Then the water cycle starts all over again. The water cycle has been going on for millions of years and it never stops.
The places where water can be stored are oceans, lakes, seas and rivers.
Why is the Water Cycle important to earth?
The water cycle is important to earth because if the water cycle didn't work any more, all the freshwater in the world would be gone and humans, animals and plants would die. So if there was a fire there would be no water to put fire out. People and animals need lots of water to survive. As a result of having no water, they would die.
So that's why the water cycle is important to earth.
